When it comes to SIM only deals, EE isn't usually known for its low prices. Rather than offering bargain basement prices, it relies on its reputation as the UK's fastest 4G network to reel in the customers.
But Mobiles.co.uk has just come up with a phenomenal offer that effectively makes EE SIM cards some of the very cheapest on the market. You can grab one from as little as £5.50 per month. While its 5GB data plan comes down from £23.99pm to effectively £9.50pm - that's a saving of £173! And the latter comes with unlimited minutes and texts, as well.
There are four SIM only deals included in the promotion:
1GB data for £5.50 per month (after £125 cashback)
2GB data for £6 per month (after £143 cashback)
3GB of data for £7 per month (after £155 cashback)
5GB of data for £9.50 per month (after £173 cashback)
That makes EE the very cheapest network for SIM only deals at 2GB, 3GB and 5GB, with only Carphone Warehouse's budget iD brand able to go cheaper for 1GB (£5pm for 1.5GB).
Now there is a bit of a catch (you didn't think it was going to be THAT easy, did you?). The only way to get these cheap, cheap prices is to pay a higher tariff each month and then claim chunks of cashback every couple of months. It's a hassle, we know, but we think it's worth it for the price you'll end up paying - a bargain of Black Friday-like magnitude..
How do I claim the cashback?
It's a bit of a faff, but Mobiles.co.uk gives a full explanation of how to claim back your cash. Every two months from November 2017 onwards, you'll claim a fifth of the total cashback sum.
You will need to send in each bill from those months to Cashback Claims, PO Box 376, Southhampton, SO30 2PX within 60 days from the date on the bill. The bill must show your name, address, mobile number and tariff. Alternatively, you can submit an online version of the bill via your My Account area on the website.
What else do I get with EE?
The main draw to EE is the need for speed. It's the very fastest 4G network in the UK - roughly 50% faster than what O2 and Vodafone are able to offer. So if you regularly use your phone away from the Wi-Fi for surfing, streaming and downloading, then you may well appreciate the extra pace.
Plus, EE gives you three free months of BT Sport - handy for the start of the Premier Leage football season - as well as six months of Apple Music. And the Apple Music use won't eat into your data allowance, so no need to worry about exceeding your limits if you decide to go for that £5.50 1GB deal.
If you need more data than 5GB, can't be bothered with redeeming cashback or just want to compare these SIM only deals to the best of the rest of the market, then you can use the interactive price comparison chart on our best SIM only deals page.
