We’re fully expecting to see the Huawei Mate 10 later this year, and now we have a better idea of when, as one site claims that it will land in October, and will have a screen similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8’s.
A report from Yesky says that the Huawei Mate 10 will have a 6-inch 1,080 x 2,160 'Full Active' LCD screen made by Japan Display. That odd resolution is because it will apparently have a 2:1 aspect ratio, similar to the Galaxy S8 and LG G6, making it longer than the 16:9 screens found on most phones.
Though if it is that size and resolution it won’t be anywhere near as sharp as the Galaxy S8’s 5.8-inch 1,440 x 2,960 screen, but should be an upgrade over the Huawei Mate 9’s Full HD display.

The source adds that the Huawei Mate 10 will apparently come with 3D facial recognition technology, which has been rumored for the iPhone 8, and that this will improve the phone’s augmented reality skills.
Whether facial scanning will also be used to unlock your phone isn’t clear, but there should be no shortage of ways to do that, as an iris scanner may also be included.
Finally, the site mentions that the phone will have the high-end Kirin 970 chipset, which is something we’ve heard before.
We’ve previously heard suggestions that the Mate 10 might have dual front-facing cameras, but didn’t know what they’d do, so 3D face scanning could be the answer to that.
Of course, we’d take all of this information with a pinch of salt, but this rumor points to what could be some of the biggest smartphone features of the year, so it would make sense for Huawei to want to get in on them.
