The best Australian tech deals

It’s time to get a great new smartphone with the choice of two of the best currently in the market, or bring out the audiophile in you with a Bose 360-degree Bluetooth speaker. Not interested in either? You can always pick up a good read with the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite.

Here are Wednesday’s deals:

New deals added Wednesday, July 12

  • Google Pixel ($849): The Pixel is a great flagship phone that performs smoothly, features a great Full HD AMOLED display and is quite palm-friendly. It’s an excellent premium alternative to the likes of Apple and Samsung. And Kogan is giving you the opportunity to save $230 on the RRP of $1,079 by offering the silver 32GB model up for sale at $849. This, however, is a direct import model, so make sure you’re comfortable purchasing a non-Australian model.
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge ($749): If you want a smartphone that has an edge over the others (yes, pun intended), then the Galaxy S7 Edge is one heck of a phone despite the latest Samsung flagship flooding the market. Kogan is currently offering a price drop on this device, with the gold and silver models of this 32GB smartphone now available for just $749, saving you $340 on the RRP of $1,089. The black version is already out of stock, so hurry before the online retailer runs out of the other models as well.
  • Amazon Kindle Paperwhite ($165): Book lovers, this one’s for you. Read your favourite books in digital format on the latest Kindle Paperwhite’s higher resolution display, and take your entire library with you wherever you go. There’s an adjustable backlight to make reading more comfortable in any environment and the battery should give you nearly two weeks between charge. There may not be massive savings to be had on the Kindle Paperwhite, but you can save a tad by getting it from Kogan for $165, slightly lower than it’s retail price range of between $179 and $189.
  • Bose SoundLink Revolve+ Bluetooth speaker ($316.08): Radiate the love of your favourite tunes everywhere with this 360-degree Bluetooth speaker from Bose, which promises excellent sound quality. It also features Siri and Google voice commands, is water resistant and very portable. It usually retails for $439, but this premium Silver speaker is already 10% off on the Myer eBay store, and score yourself an additional 20% off at checkout by popping in the code CMYER before payment and get it for just over $316 – its lowest price yet. This offer ends July 17.
  • Bose SoundLink Revolve Bluetooth speaker ($215.28): If you aren’t too enthused about spending over $300 on a Bluetooth speaker, you could settle for the slightly less powerful, yet excellent 360-degree wireless option from Bose for as low as $215.28. The SoundLink Revolve retails at $299 a pop, but head over Myer’s eBay store and score up to 30% off on it. Already listed with a 10% discount, you can add another 20% off by using the code CMYER at checkout. Get it in either Silver or Black. Offer ends July 17.
  • JBL Reflect Aware Sports in-ear noise-cancelling headphones ($49): If you’re looking for battery-free noise cancellation in a set of in-ear headphones you can take to the gym, the JBL Reflect Aware Sports could be what you’re looking for. Meant to be partnered with an iPhone, the headphones comes with a lightning connector, are sweatproof and feature ergonomic ear tips for comfort. The Aware Sports retails for $299, but hurry and grab a set from JB Hi-Fi for just $49! Stocks could well be limited. Bear in mind it’s only the red model on sale.

  • Garmin Fenix 5 ($749): It took almost two years, but Garmin finally revamped its most popular running watch earlier this year, with a hefty price tag of $949. But you can save $200 on the black Sapphire Edition of this premium wearable by purchasing it from Kogan for $749. It’s scratchproof, has Wi-Fi connectivity, and features GPS and GLONASS, 3-axis compass, gyroscope and a barometer – everything you need for a life outdoors.

  • Beats Powerbeats3 wireless in-ear headphones ($199): A tough build, great battery life and excellent bass response and good wireless range makes the Beats Powerbeats3 a pretty darn good option if you don’t like the feel of over-ear headphones squashing your ear lobes. Usually retailing for $259 apiece, these premium in-ear wireless headphones can be yours for $100 cheaper, provided you head to Kogan and grab a pair for $199.
