Vodafone launches new services

Another day; another mobile initiative. Following hard on the heels of O2’s Generation Flex offering, Vodafone is launching several initiatives to provide more flexibility to customers.

For heavy app users, the company has introduced Vodafone passes. These are aimed at pay monthly customers who want to use their apps heavily without dipping into their monthly data allowances. There are four single passes -  for music, video, social and chat - as well as a combination pass for customers who are really addicted to their apps.

Of more interest to business customers is the availability of a new insurance plan aimed at iPhone users.  Vodafone claimed to be the first European mobile operator to offer Apple customers the option of including AppleCare Services with their insurance.

Pay as you go deal

But other customers aren’t excluded Nick Jeffery Vodafone UK CEO said “To ensure our customers no longer have to worry about the cost and hassle if they were to lose or damage their handsets, we have also launched next day replacement across our new insurance products for all devices Vodafone offers.”

Jeffery said that the company was offering additional guarantees to customers. “In addition, we have launched a 2-year warranty on all iPhones purchased directly from Vodafone, so that customers no longer have to worry that their warranty will run out before their contract.”

The company has also introduced a new service for pay as you go customers, allowing them to limit their spending to £1 a day. Jeffery said “With Pay as you go 1, we’re ripping up the existing pay as you go rulebook, so that customers can use their phones knowing they won’t pay for what they don’t need, and they’ll never pay more than £1 a day.”
