Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are going to be announced on May 7 but the retail box along with some information has been revealed, courtesy of a YouTube channel This is Tech Today . The leaked images show the packaging of the Pixel 3a and another image of one of the sides confirm a bunch of previously rumored specifications.
The image of the phone on the retail box has a slight purple hue which indicates that the upcoming phone could ditch the Not Pink colour option. In addition, the power button has a yellow accent just like we have seen earlier Pixel variants.
A second picture of the side of the box reveals that it is the Purple-ish variant of the Pixel 3a. Essentially, a light purple hue with an accented power button.
In addition, the packaging confirms earlier rumours about the screen size and storage options. The Pixel 3a features a 5.6-inch display and will be offered with 64GB and 128GB storage.
While there’s still no concrete information around the camera tech these two phones will pack, the pricing has been leaked. Google will sell the Pixel 3a starting at $399 while the 3a XL will start at $479.
Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL release date in India
In India, the Pixel 3a and 3a XL will go on sale starting May 8, a day after the official announcement. Both the phones will be available on Flipkart as has been confirmed by the e-commerce giant itself. In fact, Flipkart has also gone live with countdown page which claims that “something big is coming to the Pixel universe. Know more on 8th May.” This is the same tag-line that Google is using across the globe to built hype around the upcoming phones.
Just to get a sense of the pricing in India, the US prices roughly translate to Rs 27,778 for the Pixel 3a and Rs 33,348 for the 3a XL.
Google recently partnered with Marvel Studios to bring the characters of Avengers Endgame to Pixel’s Playground as AR Playmojis.
According to earlier rumours, Pixel 3a will be powered by Snapdragon 670 with 4GB RAM in tow. The elder sibling, 3a XL has the Snapdragon 710 paired with 6GB of RAM. It is also expected that both the phones will have the same camera capabilities that we have come to know Pixel phones for. As such, the new Pixel phones could prove to be a bad omen for a couple of mid-range phones such as OnePlus 7 which is due on May 17 or Asus Zenfone 6 which will be unveiled on May 16.
