OnePlus 7 Pro might be worse than the OnePlus 7 in one way

At this point it doesn’t seem like there will be many surprises coming from the OnePlus 7 range, as not only has it extensively leaked but even the company itself has revealed a number of details. Now there's yet another leak, one that details the specs of both the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, and it suggests the 7 Pro might not be the better phone in all ways.

Specifically, the spec list – shared by AndroidPure – lists the OnePlus 7 Pro as having a 6.64-inch QHD+ screen and a 4,000mAh battery, while the OnePlus 7 is said to have a 6.2-inch Full HD+ screen and a 4,150mAh battery.

So in other words, the OnePlus 7 Pro apparently has a larger, sharper screen, which is likely to drain more juice, yet the battery is listed at a lower capacity, so it might not last as long between charges.

  • The rumored OnePlus 7 Pro 5G could be one of the first 5G phones
  • The iPhone 11 is landing later this year
  • See what we thought of the OnePlus 6T

Aside from the price that might be the only reason not to choose the Pro model though, as everything else looks the same or better on that version.

The specs list says both phones run Android 9 Pie overlaid with OxygenOS, both have an AMOLED screen, a Snapdragon 855 chipset, a 48MP main rear camera, a secondary telephoto lens, an optical in-screen fingerprint scanner, a USB-C port, and 30W Warp Charge for speedy charging.

Spotting the differences

The remaining specs listed here differ. The OnePlus 7 is said to have a screen with a 60Hz refresh rate, 6GB of RAM, a front camera above the screen, and dimensions of 157.7 x 74.8 x 8.1mm.

The OnePlus 7 Pro on the other hand apparently has a 90Hz refresh rate, 10GB of RAM, a third lens on the back for ultra-wide photos, a pop-up selfie camera, and dimensions of 162.6 x 76 x 8.8mm.

We would of course take all of this information with a pinch of salt. It’s not clear where AndroidPure got it from, and bits of it are at odds with what we’ve heard before – for example, an earlier leak puts the OnePlus 7’s screen at 6.4 inches and the battery at 3,700mAh.

It’s mostly in line with previous rumors though. And before long we’ll know what’s true and what’s not, as the range is landing on May 14.
